Betty Louise was the only child of John Edwin and Mary Louise McKinley, born on April 27, 1928. She was raised in Chariton and attended Chariton schools. She was married to Cloyd Krutsinger in 1946 and they were blessed with two boys, Dan and Gordon. They lost an infant daughter, Mary and an infant son, Timothy who was a twin to Gordon. Cloyd was killed in a farm accident while digging a water line in 1956. Betty and the boys sold the farm and moved to Chariton.

After moving back to Chariton, Betty worked in retail at Gambles and Chariton Monument, and for the dentist, Dr. Eglin, and she worked arranging flowers for some of the local florists. In 1959, she married Jerry Goode. They also made their home in Chariton while running the heating and cooling business together. The couple made many great friends through the years in Chariton and enjoyed playing cards and going dancing with them. She loved to work in her flower gardens. She had a great love for her dogs beginning with Rags when she was a teenager to Snoopy who was her last dog.

She and Jerry loved spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, kind of a retreat to get away from work. They enjoyed antiquing and collecting. She loved collecting jewelry, crystal, ceramic eggs, and an interesting collection of ladies’ spittoons.

Being an only child, Betty loved getting together with her extended family, she always remained close to her cousins and their families. She also loved Thanksgiving and Christmas as it always brought the family together.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd Krutsinger in 1956, her husband Jerry Goode in 2018; parents: John and Mary McKinley; infant daughter, Mary Lee; and infant twin son, Timothy Ray.

She will be greatly missed by her sons: Dan (Debra) Krutsinger and Gordon Krutsinger; grandchildren: Aaron (Renate) Krutsinger, Kimberly (David) Kolnes, Jonathan Krutsinger, Melissa (Sean) Maguire, Jared Krutsinger, and Christine Holder; 8 great grandchildren: Nora, Madeleine, Sarah, Josh, Charlotte, Vivian, Holly, and Tyler; and two great-great grandchildren; along with many cousins, relatives, and friends.
