Anna Elizabeth Andrie, age 94, formerly of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Carlisle Care Center in Carlisle, Iowa.
Visitation for Anna, with her family present, will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. A graveside service will follow visitation at 2:00 P.M. at the Lincoln Cemetery of rural Knoxville. Face masks and social distancing are required.
Anna Elizabeth Wiese was born on November 9, 1926 in Corley, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Charlotte Wiese. Anna, along with her twin sister Gertrude graduated from 8th grade at Hebron School, east of Greenfield and were raised and worked on the family mum farm and in the family apple orchard.
Anna married Vance Andrie. They shared several years together before his passing in 1965.
Anna and Vance lived on a farm in rural Marion County and later when she moved into Knoxville she babysat for families. Anna was a quilter, she enjoyed growing flowers and gardening. She also had a passion for jigsaw puzzles and Iowa Public Television.
Anna is survived by her daughter Elaine Stish of Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren, Shirley Fisher (Christopher), Dixie Miller (Doug), and Michael Palm (Tammy); several great-grandchildren, Bryce, Amber, Joshua, Tommy, Ketra, and Kyle; and two step great-grandchildren Kayla and Robby; also two great-great-grandchildren, Jillian and Charlie. Anna is also survived by her sister Fran Cooper of Carlisle, Iowa and her brother Walter Wiese of Marysville, Washington.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Charlotte; her husband Vance; two sisters, Helen Blackburn and her twin sister Gertrude Heeren; and her son-in-law George Stish.
