Adrian Jolliffe Iddings

Adrian Jolliffe Iddings, 86, passed away in Pella, Iowa on March 22, 2024. A celebration of life gathering will take place at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville, Iowa on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Adrian was born in Pleasantville, Iowa to Lorris and Lora Iddings on August 10, 1937. He grew up in Pleasantville and graduated with the class of 1955. Shortly after graduation, Adrian started a successful drywall business, which eventually became Timberline Diversified Incorporated. In 2023, he retired after 65 years of demanding work.

Starting at an early age, Adrian started collecting and restoring old cars. Many classic cars came and went over the years. Not only did he love collecting cars, but Adrian also always looked forward to parking them during Knoxville Nationals. Thirty motorhomes and 105 cars would be methodically parked every year into his lot. Adrian started his own taxi service and did that for several years. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with his customers. Adrian also ran a greenhouse in Pleasantville that grew beautiful plants and flowers. Sometimes generous to a fault, Adrian was always there to lend a hand to someone in need. He was a caring man who always loved to help. His caring nature was not exclusive to humans. Dogs held a special place in his life. Over the years he had multiple dogs who all captured his heart. Fluffy, Jerome, Frank, Catahoula, Joaquin were all loving four legged friends.

Adrian is survived by his companion of 44 years, Elsie Kemp; children, David Iddings, Elizabeth Darrah, and Carrie (Owen) Williams; grandchildren, Josh (Brenna) Hughey, Joe (Nickole) Hughey, Brett (Jessica) Iddings, Samantha Gray, Kaleen Williams, Adrianna Williams, and Lora Williams; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Infant sister, Lora, Betty, Bobbie, Franklin, Richard, and Ellen; and a grandson, Luke Iddings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Marion County Humane Society.
