Vivian Tinnell

Vivian L. Tinnell, 86, formerly of Lacona, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at the Chariton Nursing & Rehab Center, Chariton, Iowa. Vivian was born in Shenandoah, Iowa on November 4, 1922, and was the daughter of Ruth Bownes Bates, Jerry A. Adams and her beloved step-father Earl Bates. Vivian was united in marriage to Perry Tinnell, Jr. on October 19, 1942. She loved being a farm wife, crossword puzzles, and watching and feeding birds. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 65-years Perry who passed away in March, 2009. She is survived by: three daughters, Carol (Gary) Shields of Des Moines, Iowa; Beverly Bourque and Patti (Tinnell) (Beau Hickory) both of Prescott, Arizona; grandson John (Telisha) Bourque of San Leandro, California; three great-granddaughters and special daughter Clara M. Banks of Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Friends, 1030 N. 7th, Chariton, Iowa, 50049. A celebration of their life will be held in Lacona for friends of Perry and Vivian, at a later date.
