Tammy C. Jeanes

Tammy C. Jeanes of Chariton passed away August 28, 2018 at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Family visitation will be held Friday evening, August 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton, Graveside services will be held at the Chariton Cemetery Saturday, Sept. 1st at 10:30 AM. Tammy was born April 2, 1962, at Yocom Hospital in Chariton to Butch and Margaret (Stark) Caylor. She graduated from Chariton High School in l980. In 1981, she graduated from AIB in Des Moines with a legal secretary degree. On May 12, 1984, she married Bobby Jeanes, and they were blessed with two children, Trenton and Tacy. They divorced in 2012. In 1985, Tammy began a 33 year career working for the Iowa Dept. of Transportation, retiring August 9, 2018, as a construction tech. She was a hard worker, loved life on the farm and enjoyed her small cow/calf operation. She was a 4-H leader with the NorLuco 4-H club for several years, served 8 years on the Lucas Co. Extension Council, and was the clerk for the Warren Township trustees. Attending her children's sports activities and helping them with any project they were involved in was important to her and brought her much enjoyment. Tammy was a great cook and liked to experiment with new recipes. She especially enjoyed time spent with her granddaughter, MaKenna. Tammy will be greatly missed by her son, Trent (Emily Hopkins) of Chariton, daughter, Tacy (Kole) Vogel and granddaughter MaKenna Vogel, of Murray IA, her parents, Butch and Margaret Caylor, and a host of family and friends. Preceding her in death were grandparents Kenneth and Georgene Caylor and Donald and Louise Stark. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lucas Co. Extension Council.
