After completing school Sallie moved from Ireland to England. She was married to James Haworth and they were blessed with two boys: Patrick and James David. Sallie worked in Admissions at Cambridge University. She later worked at the International Bank in London. Sallie enjoyed classical music, flower gardens, gourmet cooking, loved to dance and play scrabble (she always came up with unique words). She had many great life experiences and everyone loved to hear her tell very entertaining stories about her travels, experiences during the war, and her life. Sallie enjoyed her time in Africa while her husband, Jim taught school for four years. She also traveled to Egypt, Greece and Turkey. She made friends easily and never met a stranger; many of her acquaintances became life long friends. Her family and friends in Iowa loved to experience her gourmet food. While accompanying a friend from England to the McCurdy School in New Mexico to volunteer she met Howard Beebout. After a ten-year friendship they were married in June of 1996 at Howard's son's home in Springfield, Virginia. She made her home with Howard near Columbia, Iowa. Sallie passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the age of 93 years. Preceding Sallie in death were her parents: David and Eva; her husband, James Haworth; two grandchildren: Rebecca and Roland Haworth; and siblings: Dr. Harry Thorpe Stewart, John David Stewart, Mary Stewart Campbell, and Jessie Caroline Stewart Barbour. Surviving are her husband Howard Beebout; children: James David Haworth and Patrick (Pauline) Haworth; stepchildren: Harold (Mary Frances) Beebout, Leo (Gloria) Beebout, Louise (Gene) Narber, Donald (Patricia) Beebout, and Tim Beebout; 3 grandchildren: Jonathan Haworth, Susannah Haworth, and Harriett Mackie; 13 step grandchildren: Brian Narber, Greg Narber, Gary Narber, Kim Etter, Jason Beebout, Jeremy Beebout, Aaron Beebout, Rebecca Jones, Alison Naden, Jill Beebout, Brenda Carolan, Samantha Beebout, and Andrea Beebout; many great grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law: Josephine Haworth and Jane Haworth. Also surviving are many other relatives and friends.
