Robin Ludwig

Funeral services for Robin Ludwig, 44, will be Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Interment will be at the Dallas Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in care of Robin's family. Robin was born February 28, 1972 in Osceola, Iowa to Waid and Jackie Cooper Stubbs. She grew up and attended school in Corning, Iowa. Robin worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Robin was happy go lucky and always had something to say. She loved and welcomed everyone in to her home and life. Her children's friends treated her like a mother, just as she treated them like one of her own. Many family and friends will remember how she was a great swimmer. Bike night in Indianola was a favorite night out with Jim, her family and friends. Robin liked to meet people and enjoyed working at the Westside Bar alongside Larry Freeman. She cooked breakfast at the Westside with her children by her side, enjoying their time together as well as teaching them how to cook. She liked country music and she loved it loud. Her greatest joy was her family and she was especially close to her grandson, Hero. Robin passed away September 25, 2016. Preceding her in death was Larry Freeman who always had a special place in her heart. She will be greatly missed by her parents: Jackie (John) Vander Ecken of Melcher and Waid Stubbs of Warsaw, Virginia; children: Bryce (Shelly) Ludwig of Chariton and their son, Hero; Nash Ludwig and Julia Ludwig both of Melcher-Dallas; and Brayton Van Zee and J.C. Van Zee both of Altoona; Her companion and sweetheart, Jim Van Zee of Altoona; siblings: Kimberly Jackson, Brandy Ford, Kelli Jo Lester, Judy Freeman, Sam Freeman, Eric Freeman, Kyle Freeman, Kevin Vander Ecken, Steven Vander Ecken, Jim Vander Ecken, Kim Howard, and Sheri Williamson.
