Richard Arlen Krutsinger Sr. was born on May 4, 1937 to Leo and Beulah (McCormick) Krutsinger in the Oakley area near Chariton, Iowa. Richard was one of six children born to the couple. He graduated from Chariton High School with the class of 1955. On June 1, 1958 Richard was married to Louise Gillaspy in Chariton, Iowa. To this union, four children were born: Rhonda Kay, Rick, Terri, and Julie. Richard served in the Iowa National Guard. He worked for a time in construction, and also for twenty plus years for the Chariton Farm Machinery Auction Inc., part of that time as a manager. Richard was a life-long farmer. He was proud of his small farm and enjoyed the work. After retiring from farming he worked hard around the yard, considering it his "little-bitty farm" with his John Deere lawnmowers and gator. Richard was also a toy tractor collector. Richard and Louise also managed a dog kennel together for over fifty years. Over the years they met many wonderful people through their dogs and impacted many families with the little bundles of fur that they raised. His family brought him joy. He loved having them around. Richard is survived by his wife, Louise Krutsinger of Melcher-Dallas, Iowa; children: Rick Krutsinger (Kari) of Russell, Iowa, Terri Nelson (Kevin) of Centerville, Iowa, and Julie Krutsinger (Michael Cravens) of Cambridge, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings: Gerald Krutsinger of Chariton, Iowa, Roger Krutsinger (Judy) of Chariton, Iowa, Stanley Krutsinger (Marilyn) of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, and Sharon Loney (Fred) of Chariton, Iowa; brother-in-law, Delmar Nolin of Newton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Beulah Krutsinger; daughter, Rhonda Kay Krutsinger; and sister, Verna Lee Nolin.
