Richard "Dick" H. Clingenpeel

Funeral services for Richard "Dick" Clingenpeel, 72, of Melcher-Dallas will be Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with family receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Interment will be at the Dallas Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Melcher-Dallas Fire & Rescue. The service and visitation will be conducted under CDC Guidelines, which includes social distancing measures, and masks are recommended. He grew up in and around Norwoodville on the northeast side of Des Moines. Dick was a truck driver for many years before moving to Melcher-Dallas and opening M-D Liquor. He enjoyed playing pool, watching the Packers, fishing, camping, hunting, and any thing outdoors. He also loved listening to Rock-n-Roll. Family was the most important part of life to Dick. He absolutely loved having all the family together and seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dick passed away July 6, 2020. He is survived by his siblings, Sherry Nuckolls and Timmy Patterson; children: Tim (Carrissa) Godwin, Brenda (Scott) Hansaker, Wendy Hawkins, and Lesa (Brett) Adams; grandchildren: August (Joshua) Riddle, Austin (Rebecca) Godwin, Angel Godwin, Shaina Flesher, Justin (Judy) Flesher, Brandon Flesher, Travis (Tonya) Flesher, Kaylee (Eric) McGinity, Meredith Hawkins, Flint Adams, Kennedy Adams, and Kate Adams; 26 great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lea Clingenpeel; parents, Betty and Gene; great grandchildren: Zedekiah, Zamorh, and Elizabeth; and brother-in-law, Donny Nuckolls.
