Perry Alan Willoughby was born April 10, 1957 to Jean and Lloyd Willoughby in Knoxville, Iowa. He was raised alongside his siblings in Melcher, Iowa and graduated from Melcher High School with the class of 1975. On April 3, 1993, Perry was united in marriage to Marlene Sue Miller. Perry worked various jobs over the years; as a woodworker, a farm hand, for Pella Plastics, and at Menards. Perry always loved spending time in the great outdoors. He spent countless hours fishing, deer hunting, gardening, camping, and hunting for mushrooms. His father, Lloyd, was always by his side during his search for morels. Family was very important to Perry. He loved spending time with his family, especially on trips throughout the United States. Perry was proud of the fact that he could say that he'd traveled to every state except for Hawaii and Alaska. Perry was very active in his hometown. He was a proud volunteer fireman with the Melcher-Dallas Fire Department. He had a strong faith and was very involved at St. John's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed many of the fellowship gatherings, such as making string art and putting puzzles together. Perry was colorful and interesting, truly one of a kind. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Jean and Lloyd Willoughby; wife, Sue Willoughby; daughter, Tiffany (Rusty) Beaty; granddaughters, Angel and Randi; siblings: Gary (Lynn) Willoughby, Lary (Kathy) Willoughby, Craig (Becky) Willoughby, and Tonya (Dave) Cooper; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
