Patty Chidester

Services for Patty Chidester, 74 will be Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 28th, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. Memorials are requested to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Online condolences for the family may be left at pierschbacherfuneralhome.com. Patricia was born October 27, 1936 in Albia to Glen and Ann (Ryan) Anderson. She attended school at Melcher and graduated in 1955. She spent summers growing up with her grandparents near Hiteman. Patty worked in Des Moines at EMC Insurance for several years. On August 31, 1963 she was married to John Chidester at the Catholic Church in Melcher. They were blessed with a son, Kevin. She was a great mother and care giver to her family. She took care of her parents and many family members and was also supportive of those in need. Patty loved children, especially her son and her nieces and nephews. Patty passed away October 26, 2011at the age of 74 years 11 months and 30 days. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Donald and Richard. Patty is survived by her husband, John; son, Kevin; brothers: Bob (Rosemary) Anderson of Pleasantville and Dennis (Rita) of Maryville, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. John and Kevin would like to thank all her nieces, nephews and friends for all the help and kindness shown to Patty and her family. A special thank you to Jerry and Laurie Kennedy for all they have done.
