Paetton Iris Canfield

October 31, 2013 — April 15, 2021

A celebration of life gathering for Paetton Iris Canfield, age 7, known as a Princess to all who were graced with her presence, will be held Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Private family services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, stuffed animals and blankets that are donated will be given to other children and families in need in Paetton Iris’ honor.

Paetton Iris Canfield was born on October 31, 2013 to Chance Canfield and Sabrina Goodrich. The world was blessed with a loving, happy little girl, with a contagious smile that she wore 90% of the time, even throughout her hard times.
Paetton enjoyed life with her sass and spunk. With those qualities, everyone knew who was really in charge at the hospital, where she would zoom around on her Little Tikes car, up and down the halls. She would often squirt the nurses with saline as she cruised by, and she earned her place at the nurses station. If you have ever heard of JoJo Siwa’s music, it pretty much sums up the little diva that Paetton could be, however she was the cutest little diva.
There were so many things that she enjoyed doing and wanted to try. Just a few of her favorite things were painting, playing with Play-Doh, and working in the garden, where she would fill her basket with strawberries and flowers that she picked. She loved taking pictures of anyone and anything. Paetton also really enjoyed school. She attended Columbus Elementary and was in the 1st grade where her infectious smile and upbeat personality made a lasting impression on her friends and teachers.
She was such a good eater. Steak, ribs, and candy canes were some of her favorite foods. But let’s not forget how much she loved her pancakes, especially when they were in the shape of Mickey Mouse.
Being such a princess, Paetton loved the girly things like princess dresses, bath bombs, and of course, having her fingernails painted. Her favorite princess was Rapunzel, which made “Tangled” her favorite movie. Glitter, oh how she loved it, and you could find it everywhere. Another favorite of Paetton’s was her collection of fairy gardens. She also loved stuffed animals and her baby dolls. She named each of her dolls and if you called one even one by a different name, she would surely correct you.
Although a princess, she enjoyed riding the 4-wheelers with her siblings, Ella and Carter. She also had a love for animals, from riding the horses, to feeding the baby calves and even wanting to own her very own snake. Paetton always looked forward to Wednesday night, “race night”, when she could watch from the pit and cheer on Ty! Paetton also loved to go visit her cousins.
Paetton Iris will be dearly missed by her parents: Sabrina (Tyler Graves) Goodrich and Chance Canfield; siblings: Carter and Ella; grandparents: Irene and Mike Herrera, Keith and Stephanie Goodrich, Jenni and Chuck Graves, Doug and Vicki Chance, and Jan Wehking; great grandparents: Becky and Ron Goodrich, Terry Morales, and Chuck Graves. aunts and uncles: Marissa Goodrich, Kelsey Storm, Ashley (Levi) Abbas, Theresa (Seth) Williams, Ashley (Dan) Hansen, and Robert (Bre) Sponseller, Nikkya (Aaron) Betz, Kaysea (Brent) Ahrens, Stormy (Derrick) Canfield; cousins: Krystyna Betz, Alex Betz, Allen Ahrens, Gracie Ahrens and Baby Hotovec, Ruby and Eloise Williams, baby Abbas, Jacob and Joe Hansen and Mila Sponseller; along with her best friend, Kylee Bishop.
Preceding Paetton in death were her grandparents: Kenneth Baker, Roy Wehking and Lorenz (Marlene) Canfield; and uncle, Jason Ahrens.
