June 8, 1930 — May 9, 2019

In Loving Memory Services for Mina Roberts, 88, of Melcher Dallas will be Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Melcher, Iowa. Burial will be at the Dallas Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the New Hope United Methodist Church. Memorials may be given in care of the family to be divided between local organizations. Mina L. Roberts was born on June 8, 1930, the daughter of Marie Diekema and Cecil Harrington. Mina's father passed away when she was very young around the age of three. Her mother then married Charles A. Kingrey (the only father she remembered) and he was her "Dad". She attended and graduated from Dallas High School. While in high school, she met "the love of her life", Carl Roberts (known as Kip). On June 19, 1948 in Pleasantville, she married Kip and they lived in the Melcher-Dallas area all their life and from this union four daughters were born. Mina was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church and also worked in the church. She gave her time willingly to her church as she helped serve funeral dinners and some weddings. She worked at Melcher Supply for Homer and Frances Cross for several years. Her last job she was employed at the Casey's General Store. She started working for them the first day it opened and continued working for nineteen years. When Kip retired from Firestone and coon hunting they traveled a little. Mina wasn't a big fan of traveling so trips were few and far between. She loved her home and was content to stay in Melcher-Dallas to be amongst her family, friends, and church. Mina passed away on May 9, 2019 at 88. She is survived by her four daughters: Karla (Larry) Wadle; Kathy (Paul) Tickle; Kristi (Jim) Rogers and Kayla (Brian) Thornton; ten grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; Oh how she loved them all! Also brothers: Jack Kingrey; Alvin Kingrey; and sisters: Sharon Weldon; Clinna Rae Culbertson; Marcella Kain; and very special friend, Nancy Waterland who was like a daughter to her. Mina was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; brother, Leo Kingrey, and sister, Charlene Huligan. Mina wanted everyone to know that "with the love of God she hopes to see you all someday in Heaven." Cemetery Details Dallas Cemetery Melcher-Dallas, IA 50062
