A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. A short service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Martha Ann Heimdal was born July 15, 1951 to Edwin and Mattie (Bartleson) Heimdal at the Forest City Hospital in Forest City, Iowa. Martha was baptized at the Winnebago Lutheran Church of rural Lake Mills, Iowa. She was raised alongside her three siblings on farms around Winnebago County and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1969. On December 27, 1977, Martha was united in marriage to Andrew Abraham. The couple lived in Champlin, Minnesota and raised their three children: Michelle Ann, Marsha Kay, and Mark Andrew. Martha was a very loving and devoted mother. Martha worked in bookkeeping for various companies. After her husband's passing Martha moved to Waukee, Iowa to be closer to her family. Martha chose to pursue a college degree attending William Penn University, and in 2012, proudly received a BA in Business. Martha really enjoyed following the NFL, especially "her" Minnesota Vikings and reading. Above all else, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, going out to eat, and hosting family dinners. Martha passed away January 31, 2019 at Circle of Life Hospice in Chariton, Iowa. She will be greatly missed by her children: Michelle Abraham, Marsha Abraham, and Mark Abraham; siblings: Elaine Dory, Randy (Marcia) Heimdal, and Edward (Karen) Heimdal; Aunt, Emma Murfin; and many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Mattie Heimdal; stepfather, Alvin Tweeten; and husband, Andrew Abraham. Service
