Family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Chariton Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made in care of Mark's family to be decided at a later date. Charles Mark Rosa was born September 20, 1955 in Des Moines to Charles and Avis Hutchings Rosa. He grew up in the Chariton area and graduated from Chariton High School in 1974. He was active in a 4-H and met a cute girl named Deb McMurry. They dated and were married in June of 1976. Mark worked part-time at the Hy-Vee Distribution Center during high school and got on full-time in August of 1974 just a few months after graduating. He had worked in grocery, the cheese department, and currently in the ice plant. Mark enjoyed working for Hy-Vee and especially liked his co-workers. In his free time he loved the outdoors. He liked to hunt, fish, camp, and garden. Mark loved to watch football; the Packers, the Chiefs, and could root for both the Hawkeyes and the Cyclones. He will be remembered for his calm demeanor, gentle spirit, and patient ways. Mark was a man of few words, but when he spoke it was meaningful. He also had a great sense of humor; his family and friends will remember his dry one-liners. He could find humor in most situations and would often laugh at himself. His family was the greatest joy in his life. They will remember growing up in a house full of joyous memories. His granddaughters: Claire and Layton (his "Littles") were truly the joy of his life. After holding them he would look at Deb and say, "This is the Best feeling ever!" Mark is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deb Rosa; children: Jason (Craig Helm) Rosa; and Jana (Jim) Daisy; granddaughters: Claire and Layton; father, Charles Rosa; brothers: Paul (Ruth) Rosa and David (Jean) Rosa; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Avis Rosa in 2015. Cemetery Details Chariton Cemetery HWY 14 and HWY 34
