Marilyn Halferty

Marilyn was born July 17, 1934 in Chariton, to Robert and Audrey Robison. She married Keith Halferty in 1954, they were blessed with 2 children: Diane and Debbie. Marilyn and Keith spent several years moving around on road construction until moving back to Chariton in 1971. They owned and operated Halferty repair from 1975 until 1995 when an accident prevented Keith from working. Marilyn then took a job, which she enjoyed, driving for the Amish everyday. She enjoyed her horses and her dogs. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Keith; a brother Richard; and a great grandson Trey Hutchings. She is survived by her daughters: Diane (Clayton) Smith and Debbie Pierschbacher both of Chariton; grandchildren: Tiki Frizzell, Rocky (TJ) Smith, Ashlee (Jeremy) Hutchings, Niki (Dan) Herbert; 6 great grandchildren; a sister Bernita Allen; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Marilyn passed away September 5, 2008 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Her body was cremated and no services are planned. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Kavanagh House, Lucas County Humane Society, or American Diabetes Association.
