Marie Ann Terrell

Memorials to the Lucas County Humane Society or the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Marie Ann Terrell was born September 26, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa. Her parents were Tony and Della Schaefer. She attended Bauer School and was married in 1948 to Dean H. Terrell. They were blessed with 4 children: Pat, Michael, Kathleen, and Shawn. She had worked at Mercy Hospital and in the restaurant business for several years, but was mostly enjoyed being a homemaker. She liked antiques and loved her flower gardens. Marie enjoyed living in the mountains in Golden and Evergreen, Colorado. Church was a huge part of her life, she had a strong faith, praying the Rosary everyday. Marie loved people and had a quick wit and was very fun natured. Marie always had a pet dog and she will be missed by her Shantu. Marie had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of their fond memories was spending the day with grandma and maybe going to the lake or having fried chicken. Marie passed away at home in Chariton on June 28, 2010. Preceding Marie in death were her sons: Pat Terrell and Michael Terrell; a grandson Chad Terrell; and her parents, Tony and Della Schaefer. Marie is survived by her children: Kathleen (Jake) Dittmer of Chariton and Shawn Terrell of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren: Matthew Terrell, Deanna Major, Dan Terrell, David Terrell, Danielle Dittmer, Patrick Dittmer, Kylie Dittmer, Karoline Dittmer, Kelsey Terrell, and Shayden Terrell; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother Paul (Marcella) Schaefer of Lacona.
