Marge Secor

September 17, 1944 — January 1, 2013

Margaret Ann Layman was born September 17, 1944 to John and Marion (Paulsen) Layman in Moline, Illinois. She was in the class of 1962 at Moline High School. Marge worked numerous jobs over the years. She was a Home Health Aide, worked for the office of Planned Parenthood in Chariton, was a cook for Russell Corner Café, and worked at the Middle School in Chariton in the lunch program. Marge enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, ceramics, and crafts. She loved to bake & cook and was always trying new things. She liked to go to Terrible's Lakeside Casino in Osceola to play the penny slot machines. Marge enjoyed watching sprint car racing with Jim and they enjoyed going to Oklahoma to the Chili Bowl. Marge was known for being sassy and strong willed but she also had a huge loving heart. She would give toys and gifts for children and families in need and anonymously leave them on their porch; usually parking several blocks away and having Dana do the running. She will be greatly missed. Preceding Marge in death were her parents: John & Marion; husband, George Gall; son, John Gall; grandson, Corey Gall; siblings: John Layman, Mary Hendricks, and Ralph Layman. Marge passed away January 1, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Jim; children: Dick (Glenda) Gall, Larry Gall, Terry (Cindy) Gall, Marianne (Joe) Warwick, Brenda (Donnie McGee) Moore, Jake (Jody) Gall, and Dana Marie Gall-Secor; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
