Lucille Ohnemus

Lucille Ohnemus, 82, of Milo passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at her home. Lucille was born to James (Flem) and Myrtle (Adams) Kennard in Herndon, Iowa on April 1, 1932. She was united in marriage in 1951 to Carl Ohnemus at Rosemount Catholic Church in Milo. Lucille was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. She was a kind hearted and caring person that enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed going for walks. Lucille also enjoyed quilting. Of all the things she enjoyed, gardening was her favorite. She loved to get outside in the spring and summer and work in her garden. Lucille was always working or finding something to do. On her visits to Mississippi to see her son Bob, she would always rise early the first day and help clean around the house. Anything to stay busy and stay off the couch, Lucille would do it. Survivors include her children: Bob Ohnemus (Beth) of Meridian, MS, Bruce Ohnemus of Ankeny, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a brother, Oscar Kennard of West Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Bertha Jo. Crooks, granddaughter, Monica Crooks and six siblings: Bruce Kennard, Ray Kennard, Betty Wadle, Marie Patton, Bertha Patton and Shirley Milligan. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo with Fr. Dean Nimerichter officiating. Interment will be in Belmont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Pierschbacher Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. lead by Fr. Dean Nimerichter. Memorials may be given to St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. Condolences may be shared at www.pierschbacherfuneralhome.com
