Services for Kenneth Stansbery, 53, of Chariton will be held Friday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in care of Kenneth's family. Kenneth Lee Stansbery was born on April 29th, 1961 in Knoxville, Iowa to Richard 'Dick' and Karen Stansbery. Kenneth was the oldest of six siblings; infant sister Kathleen, Colleen (Randy) Grgurich, Chris, Craig (Kim), and Kirk. He graduated from Chariton High School with the class of 1979. Kenneth had a passion for farming, which was his career for life. He started his farming career at home, which eventually carried him to his life long occupation at Osenbaugh Grass Seeds. Kenneth loved hunting, fishing, and any activities that involved the outdoors. He enjoyed staying busy by being a part of The Pheasants Forever Organization, pool league, and serving as a volunteer on the Williamson Fire Department for a number of years. His true joy was being a father to his three daughters, Sarah (Andy) Peterson, Cynda (Chad) Mehlert, Kendra (Derek) Bittner. He was also very proud of his four grandchildren, Addison (8), Jaxson (4), Kenadee (3), and Leigha (2), and was excited to welcome two new grandbabies in the coming months. Kenneth passed away suddenly on September 22nd, 2014 at home of natural causes. Survived by: his wife, Terry of Chariton; his mother, Karen Stansbery of Chariton; three daughters, Sarah (Andy) Peterson of Chariton, Cynda (Chad) Mehlert of Vinton, and Kendra (Derek) Bittner of Chariton; four grandchildren; one sister, Colleen (Randy) Grgurich of Chariton; three brothers, Chris of Chariton, Craig (Kim) of Russell, and Kirk of Chariton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by: his father, Richard (Dick); one sister Kathleen.
