A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenn Krpan, 52, formerly of Melcher-Dallas, will be held on Monday, February 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas. Family will recieve friends on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Kenneth Larry Krpan was born in Knoxville, Iowa on May 11, 1962 to Elsie and Larry Krpan and lived his childhood in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. He graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School, received his Associates Degree from Excelsior College, and his Bachelor's Degree from Simpson College. Kenn's final employers were the Pella Post Office where he worked as the Customer Service Supervisor, WHO Radio in Des Moines where he worked as a reporter, and both the Pella Chronicle and Knoxville Journal-Express to which he contributed photographs for nearly a decade. Kenn was a very generous person. He was faithful to his family and friends. The Melcher-Dallas and Rosemount areas were always close to Kenn's heart. He was a fan of all sports and had a great love for photography. He was known by many as 'the man behind the camera'. Kenn passed away on February 18, 2015 at the age of 52 years. He is survived by his parents, Elsie and Larry Krpan; brother, Mark (Jackie) Krpan; sister, Krystal (Kurt) Maher; grandmother, Doris Krpan; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chet and Ruth Rankin, and his grandfather, George Krpan. Visitation
