Joy Mason

Services for Joy Mason, 74, will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas. Interment will follow at the Dallas Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday evening. Joy was born November 16, 1937 in Melcher to Forrest and Eva (Patterson) Merriman. She graduated from Lacona High School in 1955. On September 14, 1956 she married Leonard Mason and they were blessed with three sons: Bill, Leonard, and Tim. Joy and Leonard enjoyed taking their family camping. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing, big band music, and all sports. Joy passed away February 18, 2012. Preceding her in death are her parents and five siblings. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leonard; sons: Bill, Butch, and Tim; 3 grandchildren: Morgen, Sydney, and Stacia; a sister Ruth Schumacher; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Joy's family would like to thank a special niece, Kay Brown, for all her care of Joy.
