Burial will follow at the St. Paul Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Memorials may be made in care of Jerry's family. Jerry Lee Starckovich was born July 20, 1964 in Knoxville, Iowa to Lee and Faye (Burk) Starckovich. He was the third of four siblings; Tammie, Johnnie, and Melissa. Jerry was raised in Melcher-Dallas and graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School in 1983. After graduating he joined the Army and served as a culinary specialist and later served in the National Guard. After serving in the Army he was offered a job with a construction company working in Egypt. He jumped at the chance to work overseas. Tina Anderson was the love of his life; they were married on December 9, 1989. Together they were blessed with three children: Clayton, Danielle, and Austin. His life was centered on his family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. His heart was crushed and life changed forever when Tina passed away. Jerry longed to be with Tina, but never stopped loving and caring for his family. He especially enjoyed becoming a grandpa 5 times over. He liked being outdoors, enjoying camping, hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, all of his "toys", and paintball fights. Jerry liked to help family and friends with the enduro races. Everyone will miss his quick and witty sense of humor. Jerry is survived by his mother, Faye Starckovich; children: Clayton (Amanda) Starckovich, Danielle (Jason) Mason, and Austin Starckovich; five grandchildren: Layla, Jaylee, Clara, Brantlee, and Myra; and siblings: Tammie (Daryl) Cockriel, Johnnie (Karla) Starckovich, and Melissa (Antonio) Rivera. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tina in 2009, and his father, Lee in 2015.
