In Lieu of Flowers Memorials to: Chariton Boy Scouts, Troop 149 or Lucas County Humane Society Jeffrey Ronald Moody was born September 23, 1959, to Joyce Ann Larimer Moody and Raymond John Moody. He departed this life on August 22, 2010. Jeff was raised in Russell, Iowa and lived his entire life in Lucas County. He graduated from Russell High School in 1978. Upon graduation, he began working full time for 3M in Knoxville, Iowa, where he enjoyed working with friends and co-workers for 33 years. Jeff was married to Julie Evon Vanden Oever in July, 1980. To this union 2 children were born, Melissa Leigh and Shane Raymond. On October 14, 2000, Jeff married Cynthia Sue Masters. With this union he gained two step sons, Chad and Seth Masters. Jeff has many loves. The first and foremost to him were his family. He also enjoyed working with the boy scouts, fishing, especially his yearly trips to Canada, of which he talked about often, a fan of NASCAR and all racing, telling jokes, his many friends, and his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers. Jeff never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He was a proud father, grandfather, and uncle. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Moody; grandparents; Raymond and Jenny Moody and Harold and Audrey Larimer, as well as his first wife, Julie Moody. Jeff is survived by his wife Cynthia Sue Masters Moody of Chariton; children: Melissa Leigh Colburn (Robbie) of Chariton, Shane Raymond Moody (Patricia) of Polk City; two step sons: Chad Masters (Carie) and Seth Masters (Hilary) both of Chariton; father: Raymond John Moody of Russell; and one sister: Shelley Denise Quillin (Daniel) of Chariton. He is survived by 5 grandchildren; Landon and Raegan Colburn, Stuart and Ellie Masters, and Gavin Masters, all of Chariton. A special nephew and niece; Andrew Joel Quillin and Courtney Ann Quillin of Chariton, along with a host of other family and friends that will miss him deeply.
