Greg Blair, 53, of Keokuk passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Officiant ~ Deacon Eric Bertrand Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Memorials may be made in care of Greg's family. Greg Arnold Blair was born April 20, 1961 in Kansas City, MO the son of Jack and Anna Marie Ripperger Blair. Greg attended the Culinary Program at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA. He had been employed as a Sous Chef at the Olive Garden and a steakhouse in Kansas City, MO. Greg was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk and also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chariton, IA. Greg enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cooking his family's favorite Italian meals for everyone to enjoy. He was very proud of his dog, Sarge, a St. Bernard and Pyrenees mix that Greg rescued. He also liked to go to the river and feed the geese. Greg is survived by his loving companion and soul mate, Holly Claire Rhea of Keokuk; 1 daughter, Alex Andrea Paris (Zach Alger) of Keokuk; 2 sons: Beau Edward Paris of Keokuk and McKenzie John Paris of Keokuk; 2 grandchildren: Easton Matthew Alger and Lane Oliver Alger, both of Keokuk; his mother, Anna Marie Blair of Indianola, IA; 2 brothers: Christopher (Jenifer) Blair of Midlothian, TX and Mark Blair of WA; 2 uncles: Herb Ripperger and Wayne (Sara) Ripperger; four nephews: Saejin Blair, Jonah Blair, Noah Blair and Jedidiah Blair; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Blair.
