Glen Fabian Hoch was born May 17, 1939 to Norb and Josephine (Metz) Hoch at their home in Bauer, Iowa. Glen was raised alongside his nine siblings and attended Bauer School. In 1957, Glen enlisted in the United States Army. He served for two years before being honorably discharged. On May 26, 1962, Glen was united in marriage to Patricia Ripperger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona, Iowa. The couple was blessed with four children: Steve, Sheila, Sandy, and Stacey. Glen worked as plumber for Dale Osenbaugh, and later, as mechanic for Massey Ferguson and Mid-Continent Bottlers. He was a member of the Lacona Fire Department and the Lacona American Legion. After retiring, Glen spent a lot of time outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, mowing the yard, and camping with family and friends. He was often found piddling in the shed, trying to figure out which tools were missing. On summer evenings, Glen loved nothing more than sitting on the deck with Pat among their family and friends. Glen passed away March 24, 2019 at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife, Pat Hoch; children: Steve (Brenda) Hoch, Sheila (Will) Coffman, Sandy (Todd) Webb, and Stacey (Andy) Coffman; 10 grandchildren; and siblings: Andy Hoch, Mary Dittmer, Ruth (Fred) Amos, Denny (Lois) Hoch, Ron Hoch, and Ed (Linda) Hoch.
