Franklin A Seuferer, 76, died of complications of COPD and heart failure, on August 16, 2013, at Taylor House Hospice. Frank was born in Lacona on June 27, 1937 to Edward & Irene (Klein) Seuferer. He received his education from Lacona High School. Frank was a carpenter his entire life and a proud member of the Carpenter Local #106. He loved to work with his hands and seeing his finished product. He and Karen enjoyed motorcycle trips they took with groups of friends to Branson. Frank was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed archery, hunting and spending nights looking in to the sky with his telescope. He was a Champion Archer and a recognized shooter. An avid hunter as a young man, he learned to live on the East Side of the Rockies. He loved looking at the wildlife through his binoculars. Frank will be missed dearly by many friends and family. Survivors include, wife Karen Seuferer of Norwalk, daughter Gina Seuferer of Des Moines, step-daughter, Ruth Dusterhoft of Olathe, KS, six siblings: Ruth Seuferer of Des Moines, Leo (Marie) Seuferer of Lacona, Howard (Marge) Seuferer of Roca, Nebraska, Ann (William) Daugherty of Lacona, Patricia (Melvin) Miller of Lacona, Winifred (Jerry) Nicholson of Indianola, grandson, Andrew Seuferer of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Connie Seuferer, son, Doug Seuferer and three siblings: James Seuferer, Mary Catherine Seuferer and Ethelreda Kalwhisky. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lacona. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery near Lacona. Memorials may be given to the Animal Rescue League or Taylor House Hospice.
