Frank Nolte, 77, of Knoxville, passed away on March 3, 2016. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knoxville Rescue Unit. Franklin D. Nolte was born October 11, 1938 to Albert and Viola Nolte in Dallas, Iowa. He grew up in Dallas and attended Dallas School until he was sixteen. At the age of seventeen, Frank joined the Air Force. He was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. After returning home to Dallas, Frank began working at the VA in Knoxville. He enjoyed the work and continued working in their psychiatry unit until his retirement. Frank was united in marriage to Juanita Clark on October 15, 1983. The couple raised three daughters: Diane, Frankie, and Susan. Later, Frank and Juanita were also blessed with two granddaughters, Becky and Lily. Frank loved his girls. He was lovingly known as "Papa" and "Grandpa". He was a self-proclaimed "professional hugger". His girls will always remember his tall tales, practical jokes, and gentle teasing. Frank was a proud member of AMVETS. He also loved westerns and outlaws, especially Jesse James. Frank is survived by his wife, Juanita 'Neet' Nolte of Melcher-Dallas; daughters: Diane Nolte of Knoxville, Frankie Nolte of Melcher-Dallas, and Susan Hildreth (Kyle) of Melcher-Dallas; granddaughters, Becky Nolte and Lily Hildreth; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
