Ethel Attebery

Ethel Attebery, 75, of Melcher, IA passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at her home in Melcher. Ethel was born to Earl and Ruby (Austin) Dorsey on April 21, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa. She received her education from East High School. Ethel was blessed with 11 siblings and seven children. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, especially playing spades. Ethel was an avid Elvis Fan and collector of memorabilia. She mostly enjoyed time spent with her family. Being with her grandchildren brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all of her family. Survivors include, husband, Johnnie Attebery of Melcher, four children: Melody (Harry) Walker of Centerville, Evenie Robinson of Hannibal, MO, Angela Boudreaux of Hannibal, MO, Richie (Cathy) Robinson of Des Moines, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, eight siblings: Joanne, Kathleen (Ray) Stanley of Des Moines, Barb Kinsley of Charlotte, NC, Charlotte Robinson, Darwin Dorsey, Douglas Dorsey, Sandy Robinson and Karen Johnston all of Des Moines. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three children: Russell Robinson, Karla Robinson, and Mary Attebery, three siblings: Elizabeth, Donnie and Delores Dorsey. Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday June 14, 2013 at McLarens Chapel - 801 19th St. - West Des Moines, IA 50265. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at McLarens Chapel.
