Elinor I. Rigel, 90 of Melcher-Dallas passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Pleasant Care Living Center in Pleasantville. Elinor was born on August 8, 1924 in Milo to Robert & Helen (Clark) Haug. She received her education from Dallas High School. Elinor was united in marriage to Frederick 'Rick' Kading on August 24, 1941; he later preceded her in death. To this union were two children; Clarence and Robert Kading. She married again to Charles 'Glen' Rigel in January 2007. Elinor worked as a seamstress throughout her life. She was a professional drapery seamstress and later enjoyed tailoring clothing. Survivors include her husband, Charles 'Glen' Rigel of Urbandale, two sons: Clarence 'Skip' Kading (Linda) of Atlanta, GA, Robert Kading (Linda) of Des Moines, nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sister, Donna Aldini (Lou) of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Frederick 'Rick' Kading, five siblings; Frank Haug, Carl Haug, Beverly Smith, Don Haug, Dwight Haug and an infant son, Freddie. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at New Hope United Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas. Visitation will be 1 hour prior from 10-11 a.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Carlisle Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to New Hope United Methodist Church or Melcher Dallas Senior Center.
