Donnie Warner

Services for Donnie Warner will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas, Iowa. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery following. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Condolences may be shared at www.pierschbacherfuneralhome.com and memorials may be given to the Melcher Dallas Athletic Department or the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Donnie was born to William & Vera (Wallace) Warner on February 18, 1939 in Knoxville. He received his education from Dallas High School, graduating in 1957. On June 11, 1966, Donnie was united in marriage to Angela Gotta. To this union were two children, Eric and Jill. Donnie was employed at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville for several years until his retirement in 1994. After his retirement from the VA Hospital, he worked for a short time at Hy-Vee in Knoxville. Donnie enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting activities. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Mower Shop and loved making people laugh. Survivors include his wife Angela Warner of Melcher, two children; Eric Warner (Kelli) of Waukee, Jill Benz (Eric) of Melcher-Dallas, Iowa, six grandchildren: Jacob (Carley), Kirsten, Bradlee, Saydi, Allison, Nathan and twin sister, Donna Warner of Tualatin, Oregon.
