Dennis Boucher was born September 17, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Alice (Moneysmith) Boucher. The family moved to Milo, Iowa in 1950 from Des Moines. Dennis attended country school and then graduated from SEW High School in 1968. He began working for Herschel's in Indianola and then began working for Eagle Iron in Des Moines until retiring. Dennis was introduced to Ruby Tickle Exline on a dare, and the rest was history. The two fell in love and were married in July of 1984. Dennis became very close to her family and always thought of all her family as his own. He was close to all the kids and was especially close to Darrell, Tom, and Wayne as they lived close and often did things together. The boys thought of Dennis as their best friend and Dad. Dennis and Ruby loved working in the yard and garden together, he would get a weekly "Honey Do List" from Ruby, the family would tease him about that, but he loved taking care of his "Babe", Ruby. He enjoyed the Iowa and Iowa State Football games, and the Iowa Cubs baseball. And really liked watching All-Star Wrestling with his Mom and Ruby, the gals would really get into it, they often went up to Vets in Des Moines to watch the show. Most people will remember how good hearted, generous, and kind Dennis was to everyone. He was generous to a fault, often giving his last dollar to help someone in need. He loved his family and often spoke of the memories of his mom, Alice and his Grandmother Moneysmith. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A notable story on a cold icy and snowy night the grandchildren put Ruby in a sled and pulled her to the car, then the car wouldn't move, so Dennis had them jump on the back for added weight, which worked, but then he didn't stop once they got going. Never a dull moment with Dennis. He also loved to tease and tell jokes, although sometimes they must have been inside jokes, because no one else got them, but he still laughed. He will be greatly missed by his siblings: Jim Boucher and Wanda Boucher; children: Darrell Thomas, Sonda (Mike) Gabriel, Jay (Diana) Exline, and Wayne (Sandy) Exline; and many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Robert and Alice; wife, Ruby; children: Tom Exline and Kathy Thomas; granddaughter, Heather Gabriel; and sister-in-law, Ardy Boucher.
