Leslie Dean McNeish was born January 18, 1929 in Williamson, Iowa to Robert and Helene (Mitchell) McNeish. He graduated Chariton High School in 1947. He married Louise Abel on June 27, 1959 and they were blessed with three children: Tammy, Gene, and Deana. Dean and Louise were married for 35 years before she passed away in October of 1995. On June 7, 1996 Dean married Joyce Dyer and welcomed a stepdaughter, Kelly. Dean worked as a house builder, owning his own company, DM Builders & Son until retiring on January 29, 1994. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He liked to cook: having hog roasts, drinking beer, and entertaining in the meat house. He enjoyed his dogs and loved spending time having camp outs and horse backing with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed his time with his great grandchildren. Dean McNeish, 83, passed away January 29, 2012 at the Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama from complications of a stroke. His wife, Louise McNeish and daughter, Tammy McNeish (Mike Bryant) preceded Dean in death. He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Frisco City, Alabama; his children: Gene (Sue) McNeish, Deana McNeish, and Kelly (Jeff) Summerlin; 6 grandchildren: Hanna Gwinn, Andy McNeish, Kelci Bryant, Tyra Bryant, Ethan Summerlin, and Rachel Summerlin; and 4 great grandchildren: Autumn, Ethan, and Ellie Gwinn, and Hayden McNeish.
