Corvin Knust

September 1, 1926 — April 13, 2008

Corvin was born September 1, 1926 at home to Theodore and Lola Borchert Knust. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the St. Paul Church, served as an elder for many years, and was involved with Senior Saints. He served on the Melcher-Dallas school board for many years when his children were in school. Corvin married Beverly Vander Ecken in 1953, and they raised three children on the family farm. Bev and Corvin spent several winters in Arizona after retiring from farming in 1989. Corvin's fondest memories were traveling with his wife, Beverly, who passed away in 2003, and spending time attending the church and school events of his grandchildren. His greatest joys included teasing his grandchildren, and trying to beat them in a friendly game of pool or pingpong. The grandchildren enjoyed looking at Grandpa's Army pictures and hearing of the grand adventures of his youth. Corvin had many good friends and enjoyed playing cards, going out to dinner or to a movie. His sense of humor will be long-remembered by his family and friends. Corvin fell asleep in Jesus peacefully at his home on April 13, 2008. He will be fondly remembered and missed by many. Corvin was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, and a brother Dean Knust. He is survived by his children: Deborah (Chuck) Eldridge of Minneapolis, Tony (Jenny) Knust of Lacona, and Cindy (Bill) Bauer of Lacona; 4 grandchildren: Kylie(Jeff) Spies, Ted Knust, Alison Bauer, and Wil Bauer; a sister Bernice Myers of Knoxville; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbors, and friends.
