Carol Ann Van De Walle

Services for Carol Van De Walle, of Chariton, will be Friday, May 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment will follow at the Gosport Cemetery. Carol Ann Bogue was born December 11, 1945 to Carl and Myrtle (Munro) Bogue in Marshalltown, Iowa. Carol was one of five children born to the couple and was raised in the Eldora area. Carol graduated from Eldora-New Providence High School in 1964. After graduation, Carol began working at a phone company in Marshalltown. She also worked for a time for the Eldora-New Providence school district. When Carol wasn't working, she loved spending time outdoors. She spent countless hours tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. On February 1, 1973, Carol was united in marriage to James Van De Walle. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Amanda. Carol was a very loving mother. In 1996, Carol and James moved to Chariton. Carol passed away May 12, 2020 at the age of 74. She will be dearly missed by her husband, James Van De Walle of Chariton; daughter, Amanda (Dwight) Bachman of Chariton; grandchildren: Clayton, Bethany, and John; sister, Bessie Hayes of Marshalltown; and brother, Kenneth (Glenda) Bogue of Fort Dodge.
