Betty Ileene Dittmer, 77, of Milo passed away on May 4, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. Interment will be in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo. Betty Ileene (Weeks) Dittmer was born on December, 31, 1937 to Boyd and Maxine (Cole) Weeks in Indianola, Iowa. She graduated from Indianola High School with the class of 1955. Betty met her sweetheart, Sylvester "Vezzle" Dittmer, at the roller skating rink at the age of thirteen, before she was even dry behind the ears, but they were in love. The couple was married on April 7, 1956. To this union, four children were born: JoCindy, Kim, Rick and Penny. Betty was self-employed as both a furniture upholsterer and the owner of a tanning salon. She also enjoyed making crafts. Betty was very active in her church. She was a part of church activities, including the construction of the 4th of July floats and Milo's Country Christmas. Betty's most favorite times were spent with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. With ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, family gatherings were a wonderful time for her. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Sylvester Dittmer; children: Jo Cindy (Dan) Marsh, Kim Kuhns, Rick Dittmer, Penny Dittmer (Al Thayer); grandchildren: Brandon, Nicole, Kacey, Jacky, Trevor, Dustin, Darin, Calvin, Devin and Tabby; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: Shirley, Judy, Dixie, Jerry and Jim; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Maxine (Cole) Weeks, and her half-brother, Billy. Visitation
