Belva Ellen Goode Lindsay

Belva Ellen Goode Lindsay was born April 18, 1911. She was the daughter of Lorane (Lo) Goode and Sarah (Oxenreider) Goode. Ellen died Thursday, April 22, 2009. She was 98. Ellen graduated Lacona High School with the class of 1928 and Iowa State University in 1933 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics with majors in Child Development and Home Management and Economics. At ISU she was a member of Rho Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was a fifty year member of Riverside Chapter #834 Order of the Eastern Star. Ellen was married to Glen Lindsay. She worked in banking and accounting in Omaha, Fort Worth, Tulsa and Chicago. After retiring she returned to her home in Lacona. She is survived by her sister-in-law Bernice Goode, her nieces Sue Ellen (Bill) Ballard and Linda Goode; her nephew Lisle (Diane) Goode, Janice Goode (the late Bob Goode) and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Keith Goode and her nephew Robert (Bob) Goode. Family will greet friends, Sunday afternoon, April 26 from 3:00 to 3:45 pm at Pierschbacher Funeral Home, Lacona, Iowa. A brief family grave side service will be held following visitation at the Cochran Cemetery. Memorial gifts will go to the Whitebreast Heritage Society.
