Audra Goodrich

Audra Ancel Baker was born on November 11, 1913 to Joe and Anna Baker in Clarke County, Iowa. She passed from this life on January 23, 2014 at the age of 100 years & 2 months. Audra had resided at Chariton Nursing & Rehab Center for the past 7 years. Audra attended school at Liberty until the 8th grade when she began working at her father's store. On February 15, 1941, Audra married Paul Goodrich. To this union were two children, Ronald Paul and Robert Sue. Audra and Paul raised their children on the farm a few miles west of Lucas. She was a true farm wife who loved gardening, canning, cooking, sewing and crocheting. Some of her happiest times were spent entertaining her grandchildren and picking apples with them. Church functions and Farm Bureau meetings were her social life. She was a member of Farm Bureau and the Lucas Assembly of God Church where she was a Sunday School Secretary for many years. Survivors include two children: Ronald (Becky) Goodrich of Chariton, Roberta (Allan) Fogle of Lucas, 10 grandchildren: Mark (Dee Dee) Goodrich of Des Moines, Keith Goodrich of Russell, Sarah Goodrich of Chariton, Vanny Goodrich of Seymour, Laurel Goodrich of Indianola, Emily (Matt) Chatska of Texas, Tiffany Goodrich of Waterloo, Shelby Goodrich of Chariton, Lori Fogle of West Des Moines, Sandi (Rob) Marrs of Westminster, CO, eight great grandchildren: Xaiver, Paisha, Gwendolyn and Ancel Goodrich of Des Moines, Marissa Goodrich of Chariton, Sabrina Goodrich of St. Cloud, MN, Michael Chatska of Texas, Mia Fogle of West Des Moines and a great great granddaughter Paetton of St. Cloud, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Goodrich on March 21, 2007, her parents Joseph & Anna (Clouse) Baker and three siblings: Raymond Baker, Marion Baker and Corda Hoffman. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery near Lucas. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Pierschbacher Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Chariton Public Library.
