Ardelle Keeney

Funeral services for Ardelle Keeney, 99, of Milo will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo. Interment will follow at the Belmont Cemetery. You may join the family by viewing the service live at Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 25, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo. Memorials in Ardelle's name may be made to the Milo United Methodist Church or to the Milo Fire and Rescue. Ardelle Keeney, daughter of John L. and Bessie (Chase) Michener, was born in rural Milo November 17, 1920. She graduated from Milo High School in 1937. She married William (Bill) Keeney September 29, 1940 at the Motor Friends Church. They were blessed with two children, Kayla and Roger Martin. She lived her entire life in Milo with the exception of 2 years during WWII when she lived and worked in Des Moines while Bill was serving in the South Pacific. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family. She worked part time for some Milo businesses. She was an active member of the Milo United Methodist Church, had been a member of the Nowata Club, Milo Quilting Club, and the Milo Coffee Club. She especially enjoyed attending the activities of her children and grandchildren in their school sports. Ardelle had many interests - ceramics, needlework, crocheting, and quilting. She made many lovely quilts for her family until her eye sight failed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William (Bill) Keeney in 1988; and her two brothers, John Wright Michener and Dwight Chase Michener. She is survived by her children, Kayla (Eugene) Turner and Roger Martin (Becky) Keeney; her grandchildren: Janelle (Dan) Snyder, Jeffrey (Sharon) Turner, Brian Keeney (Julie Gomez), David Keeney, and Jackie (Dustin) Purcell; 7 Great Grandchildren; and her sister, LaNelle Bentz.
