Madge Clark

August 26, 1925 — September 25, 2015

Madge Clark, 90, of Knoxville, passed away September 25, 2015 at the West Ridge Nursing Home in Knoxville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 29th at 10:30 a.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Burial will be at the Gosport Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorials are requested to HCI of Knoxville. Madge was born August 26, 1925 to George Washington and Lois Maude (Reynolds) Laird in Marion County, Iowa near Knoxville. She married Phillip Wayne Clark on July 15, 1944 and were blessed with three children: Garry 'Skeeter', Sally, and Barbara. When first married Madge and Phil lived by the 1000 acres. They went on to do lots of different jobs- from farming, gas station, logging, to custom combining. Wherever they went and whatever they did Madge and Phil did it together. In 1971 they built a livestock sale barn and cafe. Madge would serve great food from beefburgers to chocolate pie and homemade donuts. She took pride in all her grandchildren working beside her. She was a hardworker, but took time to enjoy card playing, fishing, mushroom hunting, and going to the casino too! On her 90th birthday she was blessed with a great great granddaughter. Preceding her in death were her parents: George and Lois; husband, Phillip; son, Garry; son-in-law, Raymond Smith; brothers: Raymond, Elmer, Richard, Larry, and Jerry and sisters: Violet Morris and Betty Laird. Surviving are her daughters: Betty Clark, Sally Smith, Barb (Mike) Damon; sisters: Jodie Stewart and Mae Zupan; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.
