Richard Duane Graham was born on March 20, 1935 to Harry E. Graham and Hazel Naomi Graham (Dollison) on a farm south of Milo, Iowa. He was the eighth of nine children. Duane graduated, one of nine seniors, from Beech High School in 1954. Duane was married to Mary Louise Jacobs. To this union four children were born: Brenda, Tracy, Scott and Jerry. Duane served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1957. After returning home, he began farming and continued to farm until 1981. He loved to work on the land and insisted his tractors not be green. After retiring from farming in 1981, he began working at R.R. Donnelly in Des Moines. He retired in 1997. Duane loved the state of Florida and everything about it. The last few years he spent six months in Bradenton, Florida and six months in Iowa. During the winter months, he would call his children in Iowa to let them know that he was enjoying 80 degree weather down there. Duane enjoyed golfing with his siblings. One of his favorite past times was watching his grandkids play baseball. Duane passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice & Legacy Lodge in Chariton at the age of 80. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Graham and Hazel Naomi Graham (Dollison). He is survived by his children: Brenda (Rodney) Horsman of Pleasantville, Iowa, Tracy Graham of Sarasota, Florida, Scott Graham of Milo, Iowa, and Jerry (Amy) Graham of Milo, Iowa; siblings: Guy (Joy) Graham and Karma (Gene) Thompson; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Milo Christian Union Church. Interment will follow in the Liberty Center Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo. Services for Duane will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Milo Christian Union Church. Interment will be in the Liberty Center Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo. Memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice & Legacy Lodge in Chariton. Visitation
